I had a great time. It was so cool to see the drivers deal with the less than ideal conditions. I saw some amazing maneuvers once cars were in spins to keep the car away from the barriers at the top of the S's. Too bad conditions didn't improve but I'm not sorry I went.

I havn't missed a PLM in 10 years. This was the worst weather by far! I am glad I went. I am also glad I left before the big rain hit. I am also glad my ticket and parking pass was "gratis". I would have been pi$$ed if I had blown $100-120 bucks on this.

I didn't mind the light rain.. It actually made for some good racing from the spectator seat... However the washout sucks...

And the infield was a bit muddy, to say the least.

I live close and love going to and from the track. Best of all I love coming back before dusk for the night racing.

Shutting down well before then the way the race was set to finish for both P1 and GT2 was a huge let down. I understand, but was very disappointed nonetheless.

They should have called the race much sooner and spared everyone waiting around.
It must have been obvious to those in the know that the track at one point could not recover in time and would not be safe given the deluge. Ironically they only called the race after the rain stopped.

It was kinda kewl walking through the empty pits watching the crews horse around (making little paper boats to float along the rivers that had formed) and listening in on the conversations.

It was a memorable event.

Klaus Graf set a fastest lap track record for P2 in the RS Spyder, in the rain. Impressive!

My first one and I still had a good time. However, I may check the weather report first before buying tickets next time!

The only thing that sucked for me was buying a Porscheplatz parking pass and not being allowed to use it (when I arrived, they were not allowing people up there because of the conditions).

It didn't rain the entire race did it? His lap record was less than 1 second off their qualifying pace and about 2 seconds off the fastest P2 qualifying time. There's no way you run within 2 seconds of qualifying in race traffic without a dry track.

No Bryan, it didn't rain the whole time. During the TDi Cup race in the morning it rained, but was just an annoying mist for most of the early ALMS race. Dry line and then a nearly dry track around 230 I guess. I was sitting in the bleachers on the front straight around 4 oclock when McNish came in for fresh slicks. Shortly after it was just a total downpour and never let up much until 730-800.

The track was never fully dry. I'm sure that lap was on slicks, and the racing line was dry enough to support this, but there were sections of the track that were never dry also.

I'm just surprised that the record was set by an "older" car without full factory support in less than ideal conditions. Graf is a hell of a Spyder pilot with such little time in the cockpit. He was actually dueling and passing P1 cars before his off in turn 3 (let the Audi do the work, don't get off line in the wet in order to be the nice guy. Nice guys, in this case particularly, do finish last).

It would have been great to see the Spyder #1 on the podium.
