Hi Gary,

I had read the other thread and I did not comment in it. First, I don’t have the level of driving experience to be a judge compared to many of the others who were posting, second, people were already offering opposing views and I did not think it would help to pile on and third, you had been in a hard crash and I felt some lee-way was due.

However, when I saw this thread, it struck me as very classy and dignified and I just wanted to pass along that thought and express my admiration.

Thank you,
Allan

The one big thing that should be taken away from all this is to discuss this at the track with the other driver.

You should seek out the other driver to understand what was going on. The guy could be a complete a-hole or someone who made a genuine mistake. If you can discuss it post race then anger can be nipped before it gets un reasonable. A few months ago I go into a wreck with another 944. We were side by side in turn and due to a mechanical issue (failed wheel bearing) I was forced to hit him in curved braking zone. Knocked both of us out of the race. After being towed in I went straight to that driver to tell him what happened. It could very easily have appear like I "took him out" and I do not want that reputation following my around. So we talked and I appolgized for hitting him. So in the end despite the body damage. We have no ill will torward each other. Had we not talked who knows what he may have believed.

HaHaHa. I like it, classic man think. Wad two cars in one season and still work some loving from the wife. It is Good to be Male!

The roast the other drover part no so good but in the larger view no big thing. Listening to the opinions of your peers and acting accordingly, well done sir.

Sorry about the cars. Take your time rebuild and regroup, gentleman racing needs gentlemen. (and ladies too)

Very impressed by this. Well done.

And I'm sure that his wife has already given him loads of backrubs and brought him lots of cold bevvies since his return. That is, of course, what good wives do.

Thanks, Glick! Actually, best one in quite a few years, and you know what I've been though!

Forums are a disaster area to even mildly discuss any incident at all.Can only lead to prolonging any incident and it's ramifications. Better to get over before the next race-let alone the next meeting!

Now what am I going to read???? It was getting like Page 6 in the NY Post, all sorts of drama and other nonsense.

I did see Gary's car at PMR yesterday and he's lucky to have walked way unscathed.
On top of that he's a real gentlemen.....
