Question Honda generator pricing

Does anyone have a preferred Honda generator supplier?
Yes, I know, Honda is one of those companies that tries to "maintain" pricing, not allowing internet prices, etc...

Looking for a Honda EU6500isa (6500W inverter) to supplement the EU2000i (which is the trailer/track generator and has been flawless).
http://wisesales.com/EU6500iSA.html

Based on some web searching (RV sites, construction, etc), the best prices I have found are from Wise Equipment sales (Authorized Honda dealer...important for warranty coverage).

http://wisesales.com/HondaGenNEW.html

They are quoting $3299 delivered, no tax, free freight, includes battery.

AFAIK, the list price is around $3699.

For the EU6500i, Northern Tools quoted $3649 + $121 freight...quite a bit more than Wise Equipment Sales $3299 delivered.

BTW, my big Northern Master Catalog arrived just today.

Did you consider strapping 2 or 3 of the EU2000i's together to get a 4k or 6k generator?

You must have read my mind.
I've got the eu2000 for track festivities but want a deal on the 6000 so I can run my 220v well pump when my power goes out in my house.

An alternative, not a Honda and a little louder (but not much), is the Cummins/Onan 4300. It's a bit bigger (size and power) than the smaller Honda models, but small enough to fit into the generator box in my trailer. I've been using one for a couple years and am happy with it.

Financially, buying 2 eu3000i + the external parallel kit costs about the same as the 6500i.
The 3000i is an excellent and very popular generator.

The eu6500i is replacing a Cummins/Onan 5000 (with extended run tank), just like the one you mentioned. Great generator.
Last year during the big ice storms in NH, I brought my generator up to NH for my wife's family and ended up leaving it there...wired it + a transfer switch.

Just considering the 6500i based on my experience with the 2000i and the 3000i that are at the track all the time.
Plus, I like the inverter output rather than a standard generator output, but that's just the geek in me.

If you're going to parallel the generators, buy the good stuff.....it's really expensive if they don't run parallel.

May be less expensive to buy a bigger generator.

True, but using your existing eu2000i with 2 other eu2000i and a parallel kit will be much cheaper if that is an option.

Hmmn, they do make a triple generator kit to tie together 3 eu2000i generators, but this application is home backup.

Don't really know if I want to pull start 3 eu2000i's in that scenario and the small fuel tank might be an issue, although they do make external fuel tanks for them as well.

I looked at Honda generators and decided to go with a Yamaha inverter unit. Just as quiet too. Their inverter units can also be tied together. I don't know of any brand that can be tied together that produces 220 volts though.

Lewis-
If you're looking for a home backup generator for a few dollars more you could get something like this:

http://www.generatorsforlife.com/

These propane generators are completely automatic and deliver a very good electrical current.
We've installed several of these for our clients and all have been impressed with its reliability. The best thing is that you're at the track and the power goes out your wife will barely notice a difference.
In most of the homes we do we install a 12.5 to 15Kw system.
There are several brands as well. Do a search in your state for installers...
