Was there ever a better looking race car designed than the 917k?

I must say that, most likely contrary to most, I wish development stopped with these cars. I could care less about wind tunnels, coefficients of drag, etc. etc. etc.. these cars were just so damn beautiful it's sad that they were surpassed by technology. Just look at the lines........

From my recent pilgrimmage to the monterey historics:

note: the gulf porsche 917 #25 is the car raced as #20 in the movie Le Mans. over the years, it's worn nos. 1,2, 20 and 25. the #20 as it's shown today is the car Steve McQueen used for the movie shoot but did not race and is owned by Jerry Seinfeld.

Derek Bell raced the #25 at the monterey historics this year.

Yup, I feel the same way.

Frank, the 330 P4 and the 412 P were virtually indentical visually. I posted 412 P's.

VR, I was wondering about that, didn't really think you'd have erred on that.
Thanks for the correction.
The 330 P4 stands out to me as the most beautiful race car of all time.
That and the Gurney F1 Eagle.

Though in terms of newer P-cars I will say I love the look of, in particular the Lizards' RSR. Got plenty of curves in all the right places yet very purposeful.
