Default Can you rebuild the trailer jacks (Bulldog)?

Mine used to be easy to crank, it's gotten nasty to use now. There are no lubrication points, can I remove it and dissasemble/clean/regrease?

Yes. Stare at it some and the method of build will come to you. Disassembly is reverse of assembly.

Just took it apart, see no obvious reason it's so hard to crank.. threads on screw aren't dry, nothing broken. Greased it up with a spray Lithium and ran the screw up/down a bunch with my drill. Turns effortlessly.. weird.

Gary, how did you disassemble it? I've got the same kind of jack and mine is also very difficult to crank.

Take it off the trailer (I used my floor jack to hold it up), take the crank off, give the rod a whack with a soft hammer and the inner slide will come out exposing the screw rod assembly. To further disassemble you would have to bend the crimps out that they put in to hold the screw nut in place.

I tried every line possible and really haven't found anyone that I could say was quicker. Then was trying a race line to protect the inside and really that didn't seem any better either so WTF.

I think going from middle to fairly tight inside works best for me.. where is your wheel, on your car or home?
