Default Camping at Petit Le Mans

I have been to the Petit Le Mans race now for several years, but this is the first year where I have my own RV. I did not get the tickets in time for the reserved spots, but they do have Non-reserved spots, which I bought. I have a 38 foot diesel pusher class A.... I went up to the NASA event last weekend and used that as an excuse to scout out a few good sites that were big enough for the coach.

Several questions:

For those of you who have camped on the non reserved spots:

When do I need to get there to get a good spot? ( RA people say that folks start lining up the Sat before the race..... do I really need to get there that early to get a good spot?)

Does RA have a honey wagon that will come around and drain my grey/ black water tanks? ( if I have to camp out a week before the event)

If I do come early, ( a few days before the gates open up), is it a "party" atmosphere outside the gate?

Once they let you in, would you leave your RV there locked up for a few days before the race....or would you not trust it enough? ( come back and find it on blocks???)

Thanks in advance

Brad

I cannot answer any question other than the last. From my experiences at RA, there is a functional security apparatus in place that I, personally, would feel comfortable leaving it locked for a day or so.

Oh, I'll be there and plan on doing some grilling on Fri night. Probably close to the car corral area, but time will tell. I'll keep you posted if you're interested.

Deal, I will have a beer ( or crown and coke) with your name on it... We will either be in the non reserved RV area off of turn 10 ( outside the track), or inside of the track, just before the esses, in the family camping area... dont knwo which will have an open spot....

We will also be grilling out, bring your food and eat with us
