LMP1 qual time: 1:09.4
IRL practice time: 1:08.2

I was just interested to compare and thought others might, too.

Good data Jupe !

The IRl is a pretty pathetic open wheel series ....

Anybody want to tape the race for me? NBC is showing the Indians game instead of the race.
Thanks

I was really looking forward to the race but ugh NBC is awful. Worse than racing 101.

BTW - FYI, the Vettes are running 6.0 litre engines this year. They have been allowed to as they are not competing for the championship. Next year they have to run 5.5 litre engines (V8 small block). My guess is they were were sandbagging a bit. That late pass by the Bimmer looked pretty uncontested. Boy the #45 is dialed in right now.

So glad Speed is taking the rest of the races. GT is great right now.

That's gotta be some kind of special effect, there's no way vortices are coming out of her wings when all she manages to do is 36 mph. She's slower than slow, what was she, 5 seconds off the pace nor something?

I was thinking the same thing.

Speaking of slow, Seth Neiman qualified with a 1.26.003. Only 3.744 slower than the next fastest GT2 car and 1.067 faster than the fastest GT3 Cup (challange) car.

...and it's not the #44 car that's slow. I was watching Timing & Scoring during Thurs.'s ALMS test and Pat Long was in the #44 car working on the setup in Darren Law's absence. I don't remember the exact times, but it was close to the #45's.

Yep. Vettes are sandbagging. We'll see what they do next week on the long course.

Keep in mind next year the Vettes will be required to run the 5.5 liter motor. This year means nothing but chasis and systems testing.

Default National Anthem - ???

Someone tell me what this is all about??

Dear Mid-Ohio Race Fans

I did not see the National Anthem in the NBC broadcast. It must have been just plain awful.

I didn't catch the guy's name, but he played it on an electric guitar, think Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, only much, much worse. I wasn't near the paddock when it was played, and I didn't recognize it at first.

Good grief, what the hell happened? Did they have Roseanne Barr sing the National Anthem?
