Default 996 Carrera Kill Switch

Anyone out there done a 996 Carrera kill switch for club racing? Which product do you like, and does it have alternator protection and a good way to kill the motor without mucking up the factory wiring too badly...? I could figure it out, but I'd rather not reinvent the wheel or blow out an alternator's electronics the first time we try to kill it with the motor running. I searched here and in several other areas, and found nothing applicable. TIA

Six pole kill switch. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...asp?RecID=1464

I wired it to cut power to the fuel pump relay, which in turn shuts the fuel supply to the engine and kills it dead. Really not to difficult to do.

Perfect, thanks for your reply.

This switch protects the alternator as well. It comes with a resistor that you attached to the switch and to ground. In overly simple terms, that allows the system to discharge to ground without going through the alternator and burning it up. There are a number of switches out there that all do the same thing.

Cool. Whose pull-cable do you like? Or did you make your own?

I made a pull cable myself from some bicycle brake cable and housing.
