Default The track blaster is finally complete: Photos

Greetings All...

Finally. Complete. After almost 1 year (to the day), the RS3 is complete. I have been working on the last bits of cleaning up, painting, installing parts, etc. Finally the car is ready to go. Only one last thing to install - the fire extinguisher. But that can wait until I find a good spot.

The goal for this car has been simple - Create a fast, safe, and reliable toy for weekend track blasting. The result is what I show you now. A HUGE THANKS TO TODD KETCHUM AND J3 MOTORSPORTS. I appreciate their patience and Todd's hard work putting this motor in. It is truly fantastic.

Here are the photos along with detail shots from this morning:

VERY nicely done! Dig the assymetric stripe, fender badges and splitter.
Suggestions; get the steering wheel closer to you, consider an adjustable rear sway bar, and get the rear view mirror back!

Best of luck with it!

Thanks! Regarding the wheel - I am 6'6", trust me...it's perfect.

I'm 6'2", the taller you are the more you need to extend it

After building this entire car to fit me...I assure you, it's perfect for me.

(PS, the glue for the mirror is drying as I type this message).

Looks great.

Curious as to why the cage did not extend to the sides, door and front roof line?

Best of luck.

I was wondering the same thing. If it's a track only car, and it looks like you completely stripped it, why no full cage?

Just curious as to why you would go with 5 points for a new installation, rather than 6 or 7 points.

No door bars??? But for a dedicated DE car you don't need them either...

Very nice.....one of these days when I have these:

A shop
Spare time
Extra $$$

I will have my track car repainted inside and out.....plus its a good excuse to find things to remove to save weight!

Very nice really, it looks like a great build.

Not to criticize the hard work, but do you actually intend to run it on those 615s?

Maybe I'm not getting it, but the way that most 6 point harnesses get routed, the added "comfort" is dubious. It really comes down to how the sub belts are joined to the buckle. I have a G-Force 6 point and the sub belts are both attached to a catch that does not really spread the belts apart. So you have two belts running almost side-by-side up to the buckle, versus one strap on a 5 point. I just don't see it being better for the boys. I just have to hope that I never need to test it!
