Default How much negative camber........

were you able to get in the fronts of your racecar?

In my 911 my mechanic says I am maxed out at -2.3, while my buddies can get
-2.8.

What are you getting? and why such discrepancy?

Thanks......

Do you have camber plates? If so, you should be able to get beyond what it desirable -3.5ish and up (or is that down).

There's a lot that goes into getting 2.8 degrees. Are you running the same strut tower brace as them? Same strut tower bushings/mounts? Pre-loading the brace the same? All other tweaks done?

By the way -2.3 is pretty good. Most are at -1.9 to -2.0.

Chris, I guess I don't have the same set up as my buddies.........

On my car the negative camber on the fronts is barely visible to the eye as opposed to theirs.......

Now that I think about it, they all use the same mechanic.....

I think camber plates on your car will bump you a class. So if you're feeling really racy and feel your existing class is too slow, go for it!!!

John, I have to read the rules regarding camber plates.

My car was already bumped from stock E to prepared F.

Do you think the camber plates will bump me into G?

Paolo,

I really don't know the rules for that modification, but my intuition tells me that you can't do it. My post was more about busting your chops!

Not to mention ride height, making sure your control arms aren't bent, factory tolerances, etc, etc. Tons of things play into the amount of camber you can have.

Camber plates in and of themselves will not automatically bump you to prepared, but if the settings are not pinned in a stock position, then you will be bumped to prepared. I looked in the 2009 rules and did not see this exact wording but am sure that this rule is still in place since so many of us think it is an antiquated requirement for a PCA stock car in the 21st century.

Paolo, if you're already in prepared, you can run camber plates and have more negative camber than if you were running in class as an E car.
