Default Bridgestone RE55s???

Why haven't these tyres taken off in the US? Are they not available? As an R spec I hear they're as good or better than the R888 and Yoko equivalent. I will need some replacement street / track tyres soon enough and can get some at a good price....for down here.

the 245/40/18 which I use for my fronts are $612ea....WOW I will stay with Toyo R888 which are close to 3 times LESS money....plus they do not make a 305-35-18 which I need for the rear.

We don't have them here yet.... Also wondering about the pricing, if that price on the web is the price you pay it seems they're more expensive then anything else. The rain tyre could be a nice solution though. I like the Nitto's NT001 so far.
