Another crazy day at the speedway.
Any comments on Marco going for the outside in the shortshute of 3-4?

Chris, I will say Marco is impatient to put himself in that place.
Thanks for the correction...I meant Vitor...I hope we will heal up just fine. I meet him in St. Pete early in the morning walking and he shook my hand and talked while we walked...extremely approachable and nice guy.

Indy 500: Did anyone notice that the trumpet player wasn't moving his fingers on the plunger thingies, when playing 'The Last Post'? Was this another case of synching to a recording? Or am I just a trumpet dummy?

Trumpet dummy...you can also change pitch with your lips in the mouth piece. He was playing it correctly...he did a perfect job too.

Marco seemed to be attempting a tactic used by his dad. On ovals of all sizes, Michael would sweep to the outside line on turn 1, ignore the apex, and pass on the outside of several cars. I had seen him do this so often, and succesfully, that I was always surprised no one else did this. He knew the trick of finding grip out there, and taking advantage as the rest of the field was tentative.
Marco was doing the same between 1 and 2, but the rookie (Moraes) did not expect him there and must not have looked.
My buddies and I were on Turn 1, the groan from the crowd when it was announced that Marco had hit the wall was by far the loudest of the day.
