Default Should there be a F1 subforum?

There are so many heated discussions when it comes to F1 that it sometimes gets ugly. Should we have a separate F1 forum for this? Afterall, I don't remember any current or former F1 drivers in the Rennlist Racing and DE section, so we're all bench racers when it comes to this...

No there should not. Too many subsets dilutes the crowd IMO.

^agreed.

I don't quite think there is enough F1 content around here to really warrant another subforum. Its usually a thread or two when the next race is near. If we can contain it to one thread for the upcoming race I don't see any issues.

What is there 1 thread per race. Maybe 2 active at one time. Nah why bother.

Yes, there's usually 1 thread per race plus a news thread, update thread and each has several pages, especially after a race weekend.

There's also a thread at the top of this forum on the F1 league that was started this year.

Sadly, the "Where are all the Alonso, Kimi (fill in the blank) detractors" thread have died out.

I'm not interested in banana cars but if not too many threads it's not hard to ignore them I guess..

As an alternative, as long as someone creates a thread for each F1 race (if there are duplicates, it is simple enough to merge the 2 threads), it can be made a sticky and placed at the top of the forum. Once the race is over, it can be unstuck and go back into the general thread population.

Sounds like a good idea. A subforum called F1 and Controversy. Seems familiar somehow?

This sub-forum stuff does not seem like a good idea. If you are on Rennlist enough, I suppose you can get around to all the different little niches to find the stuff you may be interested in. But for lighter users, it just gets to be too much. I completely ignore many of these forums as I usually get on Rennlist for a short time and scan a few sections. For example, in the "Canada" region forum, there are two subforums - one for eastern Canada and one for western Canada. I don't bother looking at either... just don't have the time...

I have never bothered to look at the P&C forum either.

Try Moderating that place ... you feel as though you need a shower when you leave.

Toss in a piece of meat (controversial/political topic) and watch the feeding begin...they make pirahna fish look tame....they can strip a newbie to the bone in less than 2 pages.
