Event #3 Autocross @ Turfway Park. Wet to drying conditions with tight turns. Didn't favor a turbo lag car. The GT-R of Taylor/Rankijns came in 1st and we were 3rd about a sec back. The AutoX 2nd place Subie is off to get a downpipe welded up.

Next up is a 1/4 mile Oval, if it is not raining, outside Nashville.

Update,

The Oval was canceled because of rain so off to Little Talledega Monday. It was raining Monday morning when we got up and went to the track. By the time the 1st run group went off the rain had quit but th etrack was still wet. The morning run results unofficial are
1st Ian Stewart GT2
2nd Tom Long GT-R
3rd Will Taylor GT-R
4ht Catesby Jones Red E46M3 with a little whp

It poured during lunch so the afternoon group went out to a soaking wet track. very unofficial results
1st Will Taylor GT-R
2nd Ian Stewart GT2
3rd Tom Long GT-R

We made a net gain of 5 points fro the event which leaves us 10 points out of 1st and heading to our HOME :thumb: track Sebring. Expect fireworks..

I wish you luck Peter. I'd love to drive that event. I am rooting for a friend though (Rankins).

Rankin's is also a friend. We are having a Royal Battle

Today @ Sebring we came in 1st in both sessions with the pesky GT-R of Taylor Rankins 2nd. The morning session 3 lap total from a standing start was 7.00 minutes, a 2:20 lap average with a fast lap of 2:18.7.

Next stop Gainesville, Fl for the ET and Bracket drags. Hopefully we can keep it close to the GT-R.

The overall score is now tied with 10 events to go.

The results are in from Gainesville.

GT2 ran an 11.778 @ 121.98 which was good enough for 3rd. The Taylor/Rankins GT-R ran an 11.3+ @ 127 which was good enough for 2nd and the Whittis GT-R ran an 11.2 @ 126. Neither GT-R did launch control.

Whittis did a launch control run in the Bracket drags and ran a 10.90 @ 126 in the GT-R

Both us and the Taylor Rankins GT-R were eliminated in the 1st round of the Bracket drag.

So going to Daytona the Taylor/Rankins GT-R is in 1st and we are in 2nd 5 points back. This is anet gain of 5 points for us on Tuesday. We are happy as we new we would loose points at the Strip.

Thumbs up Keep that #1 in the Porsche fold

Peter,

You guys are killing me with this close competition ;-)

We've passed our number 1 plate off in good faith that you and Ian will keep the #1 on a Porsche for 2009!

In all seriousness, the competition looks fun between you guys and the Rankins/Taylor GTR. Mark and I saw the GTR this February at CMP during Mark's open track event. He didn't run it at the event, just came up to visit.

Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement Drew. I think it is going to come down to the skid pad.

I hope the TT at the BMW place is better than the one they had there last year. If was pretty terrible from the accounts I heard.
