It is going to be hot at the Glen in May for the club race.....
Where should I order a cool shirt from and which configuration?
Does anyone have a slightly used one for sale?......
Thanks.......

You guys got a small taste of it at Limerock this weekend!
Go to Stable Energies and get the setup...it's really helpful with reducing the fatigue from the heat.
You can also go full tilt and get the air adapter, too. That way you get the dual benefit of cooler air to your head, and you also get somewhat cleaner air, too.
But, of course you'll need a new helmet. Oops, there goes the kids college fund again!

The whole reason I need one of these is because a large t-shirt is a long way off for me. I used to be fit and be able to handle the heat but not so sure I'll get by this year.

I have the whole setup in my GT car and I never use it, even though temperatures are stifling in that car. The problem is that when the ice runs out, that shirt is so heavy that it's worse than a regular t-shirt. Doesn't anyone make a lightweight piped shirt, it defeats the whole purpose?

There are two different manufacturers of a cool shirt. One is "Cool Shirt" and the other is F.A.S.T. I have a F.A.S.T. According to a F.A.S.T. rep, it works better than a "Cool Shirt" because of how the cool water is modulated through the shirt.
The F.A,S.T.,unlike the "Cool Shirt," works by intermittently pumping cold water through the shirt. The user controls the intervals through a switch: either nearly always on or up to every 5 or 10 mintues. By increasing the time between flows, the ice is retained longer.
I have no idea if a F.A.S.T. is better than a "Cool Shirt" or if a "Cool Shirt" has the same type of switch.
But it may be worth looking into.
