Default New Hawk Compounds

Gents,

I'm looking for a new set of pads for the 968 track car...

I remember something about Hawk having a newer compound out that was less abrassive than the Black and Blue pads...

Does anybody have any info, or a place to point me?

Thanks much!

DTC 60 and DTC 70 compounds are probably what you mean.

If you want something less abrasive, just leave hawk completely. I switched to PAGIDs and they make going to the track SO much cheaper.

For the DTC 60 and 70, which is used for the front and which is used for the rear?

Depends on your brake setup. If your rear brakes are too small you may want to run a higher friction pad in the rear to get the brakes balanced better. and visa versa

Well, I've got Big Red up front and stock 968 M030 rears...think they're pretty balanced. I need new pads all around and the little research I've done seems to say that you put one compound front and the other in the rear...I just don't know which goes where!

Kinda' like how some people put PFC 97 up front and PFC 01 on the rear...

Thanks

well the rears don't get nearly as hot as the fronts, so traditionally the lower heat capacity pad goes in the rear.

Got it...

DTC 70 up front and DTC 60 for the rear.

Thanks!

I use DTC 70 both Front & Rear. I'm on my second set and couldn't be happier.... Well if they were less $$ then I'd be happier

try to do a small sponsorship deal with a vendor. I did that when I ran a subaru... He could never get me a discount on PAGIDs, but always wanted to give me a hell of a deal on hawks (even though I didn't want to run them). The margins are much betteron hawk so you can get much more of a discount.

I love the 70s I also use them in front and rear. They will actually make your rotors glow bright red in a night race. Cooling is imperative with these.

Use the same front & rear for your car.

I thought it was the other way around Jason? 01s front 97s rear.
