Anyone have a good suggestion for what to use for taping wheel weights and maybe a link to buy it. I have seen Duck tape and a foil type tape but do not know what works best or where to buy.
Suggestions. For some reason after mounting new tires my car has decide now is the time to through weights.

I use the foil tape that you buy at Home Depot or Lowes. Works perfectly.

duct tape wont work at all.
the metalic hi temp foil tape worked well for me. but not the best.
the tape i like the most is from my local race shop, roger kraus. it feels like cloth. those NEVER come off when on my wheel. i have never lost weights using that tape. someone smarter than me may know what these tape are. i never asked my shop b/c they put it on and i never had to replace them until the remount the tires..
but if you are in a bind, foil tape is fine.

When farnbacher mounted my tires, they used what they called 'cup car weights', which were a long super sticky ribbon of weighted stuff that they cut to the most exacting value. Super sticky, super cool.

I've seen various "versions" of foil tape and the one I buy is high temperature rated. I got the last roll at Lowes or Home Depot. Cut a piece, stick it on (overlap all sides of weight), and forget about it. Never had an issue and it also makes clean-up easier (no brake gunk stuck in the nooks & crannies).

I use special lead weights with a high temp adhesive backing, and they stay on pretty much by themselves, but I do use foil tape as well. There are differences in thickness though, and I think that Nashua makes a foil that is 2x thicker than the regular stuff (available from HVAC suppliers). Makes taking it off a breeze.

Thanks Guys, I think for now its off to Home Depo and try the HVAC tape. Thanks for the tips. i will stay away from the "zoo" no Duck tape. I like that one.
