check out on youtube, Lime Rock Park PCA Driver Ed 11/08 with a driver from the Red group and let me know what you think; I will do my first DE at Lime Rock in September but of the vids I have reviewed, he seems to drive a good line.

This is the best I have to offer:

I was there yesterday - it wintered well. Just about as smooth as November.

Same line, less bumps!

Of course there are no visual cues on the track surface now... And, there's no need for a rain line because the racing line hasn't been worn smooth yet.

Thx for the video.... It's been a couple of years since I last drove on this course and it looks very smooooooth when compared the the track I knew and loved so much. Lines seem similar but I'll find out in a couple of weeks at the CR.

Just drove the track today. The only turn that is different is West Bend. The entrance is earlier and there is more pavement at track out. I would say WB is now an increasing radius turn.

All the other lines are the same, and the track is smoooooooooooth!

JL

Also did a 57 today on crap tires, which tells me the track is faster.

Do you mean that you don't have equipment to make good videos?

If I don't miss my guess I think it was a bit of self deprecating humor...

And my reply was my refusal to admit it :-)

See you in 2 weeks Paolo (day for day). Hopefully it will be warmer then.

I found that the track out berms after big bend are more slippery. Same basic thing after west bend. I [I]used to go right to the edge after big bend and pretty far into the ones after west best. Hopefully that'll change after more rubber is laid down.

One more thing, the curbs are elevated and you cant run over them without upsetting the car. This is everywhere on the track. Keep off the curbs if you want a clean fast lap.

Jimmi, isn't staying off the curbs hard to do in a racing situation?

That woud me my guess anyway......

How do the racers accomplish that without upsetting the car?

1) Not really, unless you plan on dive bomb passes with your car undulating in a grip searching drill post apex. Its not the fast way around here. The curbs are a good 4 or 5" high, and they are not turtles, they are solid concrete walls (that's what they feel like).

2) Two words: CAR CONTROL.

Upset car = Slower with more mental fatigue as you fight for control and fear an unwanted off track excursion. Not what you are looking for in your first club race Doc!
