Default AMB Trans X 260 dp mounting suggestions.

Anyone care to share positive or negative experiences with mounting one of these in a 997? I'm looking for a permanent location. I wasn't certain if the bottom of the transponder has to have a clear line of sight to the track surface or not.
Thanks.

I was just about to post the same question about a rechargable transponder on my 944 edit, I did a search and there are a few posts out there

I have the rechargeable version. I have it mounted drivers side front wheel well. Mounted in the middle. Simple install and works fine...standard location for most I think.

I have the hard wired version. Our rules say it cannot be further than 8 inches forward of the front axle. So I have mine mounted in the left front wheel well.

Good to get it as far forward as you legally can. Last weekend, a race was decided by .004 seconds, which I think calculates out to less than a foot at that speed.

Mount it on your tire so it gets good exposure to the track surface....
