Default Eric Bana - Love the Beast documentry

Looks like a great documentry, though no US release date yet.. due out in mid March for the Aussies though.

Some interesting background on him..

"Today, Bana’s acting success means he can indulge in some serious motor mania.

He regularly races custom-built Porsches at Sandown and Bathurst, which he calls “a bloody expensive business”.

In 2004, he competed in the Porsche 944 Challenge and finished seventh in the championship, with a best finish of fourth at Sandown.

These days he can afford to have high-performance vehicles created especially so he can throw them around a racetrack at G-force speeds, but his first relationship with a car was more modest.

Bana’s long-term mechanical love is a 1974 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe called ‘The Beast’, which he’s owned since the age of 15."

FYI the move Love the Beast http://www.speedtv.com/programs/speed-movie-special/ ran last night and was excellent! looks like it will re-run Sunday at 3pm est, it starts off with a Porsche 993 running around the track.... can't beat that for a start! Good documentary worth watching.

Watched it today. I liked it.

The parts with Clarkson, Leno and Dr. Phil could have been left out.

Ummmm....

Why do you do what you do with cars? Why do any of us, and what's the most important thing we get out of it? For anyone even the slightest bit introspective, that is not an easy question to answer, and one not often enough contemplated. At the very least it offered some perspective to people that only know him as an actor. I'm obviously not much on pop culture because I had no idea who he even was. Never heard of him, but I understand him.

I've owned, built, and driven the same car for 20 years. I understood all of it. Now he does too. Life without understanding is a pretty low existance. If you read this Eric, I'll help ya fix'er up. Fair Dinkum!

I would have liked it better with a better ending "Here's the Beast rebuilt again", not "Eric plans to rebuild the Beast"

Then the movie wouldn't be released for another couple years.
