Default Which Splitter for a 99 c2 with a cup wing?

I had the 996 spec out last weekend, and we had the cup wing at one from flat, and were experiencing some real push. I guess this is common with a wing that huge.

What are my options for front splitters to fit the 99 aero front bumper?

Since you're in Socal I'd talk to GMG. Either the cup splitter or their World Challenge splitter.

If you are running the aero front for the 996 then get a MkII cup splitter and add it. I did it to my 996 on the base of my MkI aerokit front bumper. I did the writeup over on renntech.

There are several other factors that are going to contribute to that push......shock settings, arb's, ride height, rake, etc, etc, etc..

So a 996 spec class with cup wings? Interesting.

I thout the spec said MkI factory parts, or the getty spec wing, whatever that is.

So then the MkI "taco" wing? That was the standard wing on the cups, street GT3's and "aero" c2's.

Same resolution though as I stated before.

Front splitter isn't going to help that much with understeer.

Did you get the re-valved PSS9's on there with the 700lb front springs?
Where's the front bar set?
What front camber?

Depends on where he is experiencing the push. The front aero bumper and splitter with help reduce lift and BALANCE the rear downforce.

But like I said earlier, there are way too many other variables that can come into play (post #3)

We are all still testing out ideas for the new class. The worst push was happening on a 135 mph long right sweeper where the front started feeling less grounded. Maybe it's not the issue, but me and the other local guy building one wanted to try it out.

That sounds alot like ride hight, rake, and lack of reducing aero lift. When I added the RS CF wing to my GT3 and lowered the the ride height with the cup splitter, I immediately felt 1000% more planted at the nose.

I should probably upload a photo as well. Unfortunately, I am traveling to Seattle for work for the next 6 weeks, so the build is being put on hold until I get back.

That day we drove so fast, most of the numbers fell off the car.

John - I was there that day with you running a silver GT3; what times did you eventually get down to? BTW, your car is loud (nice).

Well, if that's the pic of the car in question then it's running a MkII cup wing. Not questioning the rules, but for a spec class, that seems a bit over the top.

Anyway, back on point, the front doesn't seem to have the MATCHING cup splitter attached to the bottom of the aero bumper. You really need to decrease the front end lift which that splitter corrects. It's a PMNA part and runs about $150. Between that and getting the ride height and rake dialed in you should be firmly planted.

Thank you dell. That is the answer I was looking for. Is it just the regular mk2 splitter? or cup? Right now I have the lower portion that is supposed to be on the mk1 bumper.

I did that 1:32.1 earlier on in the day, but tires started going away on me later in the day.

What's your ride height? Dell's onto something there with the rake comments. Tough to tell from the picture as you could very well be hard on the gas but it looks like the front isn't low enough / rake isn't right. You should have around 15mm rake in the car.
