So I am upgrading many other parts of my car after my first full year of racing. Had a great time and made it through 10 events without any scratches, dings, dents, or DNFs. Sure a fresh motor, suspension tweaks, and a new trans with proper gearing and LSD are in order... my knuckles are bruised already. But I need to up the safety factor too. I'll be making a single bulk purchase of more Nomex socks and better shoes and other random stuff, but of top priority are harnesses and H&N.
Originally I bought a set of very lightly used G-Force 6pt harnesses. Sure they were sufficient to meet the letter of the law, and they worked reasonably well, but they are stiff and obviously an entry level product. I am glad I did not have to test them. Compared to what I've seen with some of the other belt systems, well... it's time to upgrade and do it right. No question I am getting a Schroth Hybrid 2 for the belts. No debate needed there.
My main question centers around the new H&N devices, in particular the DefNder. The color is garish but the price is half the HANS Professional. I am prepared to buy the HANS Pro, but is this new device worth a try, or is it yet another fool's bargain?

Yes I searched but that thread doesn't really have any meat on the thing. It is pre-release pretty much. The trackpedia thread was the most helpful.
I was wondering if anyone had actually USED one yet here.

OG Racing has them too. I have not used one yet but did try it on with a helmet while sitting in a race seat. Not a "try" by any means but some small things were noted.
Random thoughts. It is tall over your collarbone area and can contact the helmet edge. You have to put it on and take it off by pulling it over your head rather than sliding it around your neck. Looks to be ajustable in rake. Looks like the shoulder straps will have to work a lot harder to slip off than with a Hans but that is just speculation. Four tethers in a V format and a much diferent release system on the helmet end. You can move your head side to side as the top tether section is a slider like on a Hans.

Unfortunatley, I am unable to get into the Cup car (walking is enough of a challenge at the moment).
I'm afraid my "HNR evaluation joy rides" are behind me for good. It was fun while it lasted.
I apologize for not staying a bit more on top of HNR discussions and progress.

Getting back to the original poster, you will find much more information and evaluation on the ISAAC, R3 and HANS, at least in this forum.

Thank you very much for the generous offer.

Why don't you just post the data on the Isaac site, and quit pretending RSI is anything other than a faux safety organization ?

Is "disclosure" really that difficult ? Don't you realize that you take a huge credibility hit by continuing the charade ?
