Default Anyone run 335/30/18's on a 930 (or similar wide body)?

I run 315/30/18 Hoosiers in the rear of my 87 930 for track days.

Just wondering if anyone has fit 335's successfully, in 18" wheels

Thanks!

I run 335's on the back on 13" wide wheels. If your wheels are only 11s then I'd stick with smaller tires.

What are you running in front? I wouldn't go with 335's in back without at least 295's in front.

Mike and Jack, thanks.

I use 12" rear wheels, 9-1/2's in front. Mike, the 335's fit your 73, right? Are the RS and 930 flares about equal?

Jack, on track I run 275's up front. I found it a much better combination for the 315's, than the 245's most folks run. Better turn in, and less brake lock up in front.

Curious why you're thinking to go even bigger. Can you explain please?

Thanks

My thinking is only that the front-rear offset should be a consideration. For the same reason that 245/315 is probably going to mean a fair amount of push, both in high speed corners and under braking.

On my car, I run 275/315, and sometimes 255/275 on the same wheels. Mine are 9.5x11x17.

I could fit 335s in the back, but I run 1-inch spacers instead.

My RS can barely fit 275s in back, the 335s are on the Viper.

275/335 should be fine on your wheels IF they fit under the fender, sorry I can't help you with clearance.

Thanks Mike.

Jack, I run no spacers, not even stock 930 ones. Guess I'll have a used set of 335's mounted and see if they clear.

Is it the ratio of rubber front to rear you're concerned with matching? Not sure what your concern is re offset.

My rear suspension has re-positioned mounting points, and my rear flares are slightly wider than RSR width, so my car isn't a good indicator of what will fit on others.

Yes, I'd be concerned about handling with too great a difference in width, front to rear. That said, a Turbo has more weight in back, and also more power than my car, so (again) my experience might not be all that useful.

Even if 275/335 isn't ideal, you can probably tune around it with swaybar settings and tire pressures. Let us know how it works.

Appreciate it, Jack!

I forgot you had the repositioned mtg pts.

Hmm....I think it might fit with the right offset wheels-spacers.... I run 335/30-18's on 12" CCW C10's )8.25" backspacing + spacer) on my 928.....granted the fenders are seriously flared...but it works

Thanks guys!

I'll mount up a used set of 335's and see how it fits.

Glenn - If you are running the same CCW's I was (11.5") a 335 will most likely work, I know I had room on my car. I was happy with the 315/245 match up so never actually tried it or gave it much thought..

Cool. Thanks Gary!

Yup, same CCW's, but I think my rear's are 12"

Came across some slightly used 335's, so it's hard to pass them up. If they don't fit I'll stick with the 315's.

Cheers -
