And the list continues to grow in the pro ranks. Honda in F1, Subi in WRC.
Damn, 2009 is going to be ugly...
I just read that Ferrari will possibly lay off 10% of it's work force. F usually sells 600 road cars a month, but in November only sold 92. Ferrari will shut it's plant for 20 days from Dec. 19 to Jan. 7, 09.
I'm wondering how this will effect their race series aside from their F1 program.

I hope Subaru doesn't pull out of the Rally America Series.
New rules are on the way for WRC in the next few years.

Two major teams in the WRC have pulled the plug Subaru today, Suzuki yesterday...
Doesn't seem 2009 will be a good year at all for any of the top tier of world motorsport, F1, WRC, ALMS.

Nothing against the WRC, but IMO they have been headed downhill for a while, it really peaked right around the early 2000's. The duels between Solberg, Gronholm, Sainz, Makinen, Burns and McRae were classic. While Loeb is certainly unbelievable his domination hasn't really helped the series as a whole. While F1 could get away with one driver domination during the Schumacher era due to it's massive fan base, WRC really can't. Not to mention they've always hovered around 8 competitive driver/team combos, so whenever a manufacturer pulls out it's a huge hit to the series. Of course maybe I'm just bitter they stopped broadcasting it stateside!
