944 cup race at the glen video
http://vimeo.com/1927788
lesson learned -- warm up the brakes before the bus stop !
towards the end of the race a 911 flipped in the busstop - look to the right at the end of the video and see the car on its side ..thank god the driver was ok !enjoy - had a blast !

It was nice to see you again!
That was a blast. Having spent somewhere around 80 days at the Glen, this was my first time racing there. A completely different experience. What a great, great time!

Nice post! A few things to add here. Here's my version, although a compilation of camera views. But, just before you arrive at Bus Stop with your braking issues, I get shoved off line although you can't see it, and passed by Jaku who was watching as well.

And that DP that was storming around is much more than that; it's a twin turbo Porsche, probably the only one in the world like it.

Drifting
Frank;
Looks like there was a light turn out for the 944 and 968's. What were the lap times for the class winners? I was at the Glen a couple of weeks ago and had a pretty good day running with Pete Debusmann and Pete Tremper. It's nice to have 3 guys to drive with, certainly made it more interesting than a typical DE.
Was the weather that cool? Some of the people in the video look bundled up.
I'm hoping to do the NJMSP race with NASA in November.

The weather was decidedly cool, but so very beautiful. The finger lakes with autumn approaching were perfect. However, no question it was horsepower, and more specifically; turbo weather. I found that I could get my tire temps up, but the track temp itself wasn't really getting warm. There were 16 of us in Cup and SuperCup, more than enough for us to form our own grid. By late Sunday, however; our numbers were down a bit and that's what you see in these clips. Us Paddock guys had a revelation late Sunday, when the tire pressure gauges were found to have 10lbs+ variance. Then I lent mine in to find it was another 5lbs beyond them! This meant to me that I was so overinflated, like 15 lbs and when I adjusted for that the car felt so much better. So, at the start of the last race, which the video shows, I got a killer jump, with renewed confidence, to pass Jaku, as you see, then on the run up to Bus Stop I was alongside and had the line to beat Stadt, but he jammed in and put me four over the curb and they both blew by me. I was pissed, but I was off the pace nonethess and it was a good race all the same, until halted by red flag for a 911 that barreled in the Bus Stop litter.
Lap times:
Laputka: 2:16.411
Hubbell: 2:16.922
Jakubowski (CUP): 2:16.901
You tell me about Jaku; faster than the SC's, 10 sec up on the next Cup car, and pulling us down the straight. We were laughing at how obviously un-spec that car seems, even if well driven.
