On top of no race in North America, hybrids and more third world tracks, how about spec engines?
http://formula-one.speedtv.com/artic...-spec-engines/
Let's think, what else could we do....
Why don't we just have computers drive, I mean drivers cost so much...
Why bother with chassis design? Lets do it up NASCAR style...
I can't see any need for race track's since they have walls, other immovable objects and are dangerous, no to mention are expensive. Let's just build a giant paved area in which ever crackpot dictator will pay us the most's backyard and just vary the course with cones, like autocross....
Lets hear your ideas...

Let's nationalize F1. Seems like good timing to do that.

The writing's been on the on the wall for a while but by nixing events like CAD Grand Prix in favour of Singapore and Valencia they clearly care more about revenue than the purity of the sport.
Lets hit them where it hurts- in their wallets- by starting an F1 boycott. Just think if we got 50 RLers to stop watching/attending. . .
Or, start a parallel Grand Prix series like CART and Indy cars.
Ok- I'm out of great ideas.

I think B&M forget F1 is where it is, because of what it was, not what it is.
If we didn't have teams/drivers to root for, it would be one hell of a dull race series.

Did any of you catch on Speed TV "24 Hours of Lemons"?
Race cars that get a total allowance of $500 --
During this depression - that could sure make racing come alive again...
and without any pain.

KERS needs an improvement, but what is so bad about allowing hybrid systems in F1?
Spec engines in F1? Wow, and to think the IndyCar Series will have non-spec turbo'd engines for 2011...

how about a common driver pool? an hour before qualy, the drivers draw straws to see who they're driving for. a bell rings and they run to their rides & bid for pole.
or maybe a REAL safety car lottery: each race, one unsuspecting team receives one defective tire that's sure to go during the race.
F1 star for a day? one lucky member of the audience gets to start the race from pole. let's see if he can keep it shiny side up!
this really is becoming a circus.

They allow (and even encourage) passing.
The drovers are approachable.
The pits are accessible.
They have real world cars as well as exotics.
The series organizer/owner is not turd.
There's a race 25 mins. from my house.
SPEED has decent coverage.
IMSA has streaming video ( in English).
etc.
