Here are the rest of my pics:

I don't have any special lens, just the standard non-telephoto lens (though I now realize I need one!)

Okay SeaCay and naroescape, what settings were you using on your cameras for the night shots? I just got a new Nikon D60 and I'm still trying to figure it out. Its my first digital SLR, my last one being a match needle Yashica I've had since I graduated from college almost 35 years ago. As you could see in my raw shots I never nailed the night shot with it, unless I was in a spot where the Muscos were making it like day. TIA for the help.

I was using anywhere from 1/60 to 1/80 shutter spped @ f/2.8 and iso 400/800/1600 depending on the shot. Most autofocus will have difficulty in this case, so you need to pre-focus on a known distance and set your lens on manual focus (or do not use separate focus lock * as on 1DmkII).
I scrapped the flash and tried all my shots with illumination only from trailing cars. Most flash shots just don't work, and unless the Musco is far enough away that the light has fallen far off, it's just a daytime shot with a black background. Boring...

Thanks,
I tried everything from opening the aperture all the way to the slowest speed, with and w/o flash. You can see the results in the pics I took, not very good. I've got two DVDs and a book on the this specific camera that looks about as thick as a Space Shuttle Flight plan I still need to go through. Oh well, its a learning experience.

Actually I just got lucky....I just got my Nikon D40x from a guy that works for me and this was the first time I've ever used it. and I only have a 18-55 lens, so I can't really get close ups. I have no idea how to use the thing, so it was on auto the entire time, which you can tell by the clarity between mine and SeaCay's. The glow of the DHL and Lizard was the flash reflection....kinda surprised it came out so cool from so far away...
