Photo below of track and "swimming hole". If this is the same incident that I was told about the car went off at T1 and ended up in the "swimming hole". The distance from the track to the creek is quite far and there used to be a small tire barrier, but that does not show up in this pic.

The car left the track relatively early in the corner and missed by a good few yards the tyre barrier that is in place. The track workers told me that this is the second car that they have had to remove from the creek.
Im actually reconsidering driving my 997s at these events. coming from motorcycle racing i thought these were relatively risk free...i think a Boxster spec may be in my future. After saying that, these events reduce risk to a minimum, only 3 cars on the track at any time, no forced passing, i guess **** happens. The driver is extremely experienced and talented, it was just his turn to be that guy.

Come on and join us in Spec Boxster. My car will be finished in a couple of weeks. This is the least expensive race car I have ever built and the support from the other guys in the series has been incredible.

That trip to the dunk-tank is for pikers! :-)
Find yourself in the drink at Moroso and you'll find your passenger out of the car and a reptile in his place!
They've black-flagged sessions there because the corner workers been chased out of their station by a sunbathing gator.

All kidding aside - that's a pretty scary incident. Being strapped into a car with water flooding in has got to be a pretty sick feeling. Glad everything worked out with nothing worse than a soggy ride.
