Nothing like a shake-down run at a little backwoods race track like DAYTONA FRIGGIN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY!!! Yeah nothing finds loose nuts faster than a 160mph+ run on the high banks! Hope Bob brings some support crew with him to the track.

LOL! Exactly...

When I was at Daytona last December things came loose - but, thankfully, not at terminal velocity.

Any comments on the Cross coilovers? I just installed some on my 996, but I've only had it out once to the track, an I'm honestly not knowledgeable enough yet to be able to evaluate them. I chose them because of price ad their ability to handle relatively high spring rates.

Nice!

Are you going to Daytona at the end of the month too Bob?

ViperBob installed a Cross system in my 964 as you can imagine, it was light years ahead of my tired OEM suspension. It took a couple of events to "reprogram" my brain - I had to learn that I could carry a lot more speed in the corners. I'm sure you'll come to love it as you explore the the extra performance the system gives you.

I think the CROSS system is going to work great in "the smurf". I don't think it will show its true colors during its maiden voyage at Daytona at the end of the month. I think he's gonna be able to tear it up at Sebring where that suspension really comes into play.

....in fact, I'm volunteering right now to instruct at Sebring!

I don't know what's going on with Rennlist. I uploaded the pix to the site just like I always do.
<GEEK>I wonder if their servers are "load balanced" across multiple physical hosts and that the pix weren't properly replicated to all the servers. </GEEK>

Terry-

Most likely wont make Daytona (which, as you pointed out isnt such a bad thing anyway for the shake-down). The JIC Cross suspension has been on the car for over a year and has "seen" Sebring, Daytona, etc. already, but with all the new ERP stuff the car will be a whole diff. animal.

First shot at the track will be the RRR CHIN Event in November, then Daytona with AUDI Club in December, and Sebring with CHIN the last weekend in December. Hope to meet you at one of those events...and Christian, you too.

That's a factory piece although "Papa smurf" in it's current form doesn't need it anymore...
