How much track time do you get at one of these two day NASA weekends? If you include the Friday test and tune is it comparable to a normal three-day PCA Club Race?

More track time at a typical PCA race day.. AFAIK Friday is an open track day at their HPDE and open to DE people also (not good), but I may be wrong and the groups will be separate..

Yes Richard, the disease is so bad that I fly in from South America a few times a year to drive the car. Luckily my previous business still gives me enough credit card points to cover the airfare. I'm aiming to schedule two race weekends per visit for 2009 so I was inquiring about NASA as an alternative.

Next question: Are you coming to race or D.E.? If D.E., what is your level of experience or run group??

This past year, most (if not all) of the PCA club races have also run advanced D.E. during the race weekend.

My driving days are so few I do just club races with the test and tune or DE before with a driving coach. The 968 is a new car to me and I'm still getting it sorted. Pete at RS Barn has been very helpful. My first race this year at Mid-Ohio I finished DFL, next race at Mosport was 4th of 12 cars in the enduro while still fighting some handling issues. Being so far away makes it difficult to get the setup correct. Hopefully we'll get it right next year.

hi, in case this is interesting or helpful to you guys... we have 2 days of open track with Kojote Motorsports, at the Glen on Oct 1st & 2nd, which is immediately prior to the NASA event (which starts Oct 3rd). Kojote is for advanced-only drivers. Format is open track all day (no overtaking restrictions, passing anywhere from "start to finish", no run groups or sessions). All entrants get a garage space. We will also give each entrant a 1 hour DvD we made with David Murry where he explains how he drives the Glen, and contrasts the his driving approach (line, braking, cornering technique, overtaking strategy) for various cars he has raced at the Glen.

Love to have you guys come. Hope this is helpful to you for the NASA race. There's a thread about the event here on RennList. Or, you can go to the website: www.KojoteMotorsport.com
