At the Skippy 3-day school at Laguna Seca:

Me: "Can you take turn 10 flat-out?"
Instructor: "No."
Me: "I'm going to try it anyway."
Instructor: "OK. Just let me know beforehand so I can come out and watch."

Great story, and that must have been quite an experience!

Sound familiar....

One of my Skippy school instructors some 35 years ago, almost.... "If you don't come back with just the steering wheel every now and then you're not trying hard enough!" To which one of his fellow instructors who overheard the remark replied, "If you crash the car you deserve to die!" They were a real fun group as I recall.

seems like everyone is credited with the "second place, first loser" quote, first time I saw it was on a "no fear" t-shirt...

Not racing but funny anyway.

"If you wreck this car you better hope you die in the crash...."

(my dad in reference to me driving a very expensive customer car, think 60's and red)

Me to me two year old son on a little jeep kiddy ride... no idea who said it first:

"Full throttle until you see God, then brake..."

My wife: "Shut-up, your embarising the family and pull down your shirt, I can see your gut!"

LOL!

PCA Certified Instructors class at Road Atlanta, our Nat. Scrut. said: " After what I've seen, If those guys (referring to another region) ever came down here to race you guys, you'd beat them like baby seals."

He might have said that to all his classes but it cracked us up!

"A racer must drive at 9/10th of his ability to qualify safely, and 10/10th of his ability to qualify well, but to win you must drive at 11/10th of your ability and be lucky enough not to kill anyone."
