You can't win all your DEs.........
Mont-Tremblant
First day….. Turn 7…..
Going in too hot in and early make it….. well you will see…..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZDkdhKpgaU
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joking aside…… I consider myself lucky.......
Two other cars on the same day, same turn, weren’t so fortunate…..
Could the spin have been saved once I was in the grass at over 90 MPH?

Yup, way early, plus you were off the throttle as you crested... Glad all ended up OK.

Oh man ....
Turn 7 is the WORST place to go off at LCMT. T7 scares me.
You turned in way early and ran out of track.
At T7 ride the left side and turn in just after the turn in cone and apex a bit late so that the exit is almost straight rather than another corner.
Glad the damage was nothing more than your ego.

Thanks guys.....
How about answering my question?
Could the spin have been saved once I was in the grass at over 90 MPH?
Should I have done something different once in the grass, or at that point all
the drivers efforts are futile?

Doesn't look like it. You got the wheel straight while on the grass--or so it appears--and then the back started coming around again, likely because the rear brakes locked. Maybe the only thing you could have done would be release some brake pressure as you straightened the wheel & see what happens, since you were not pointing at a wall at that point.

Never lift in 7, even if you came in too early. Just squeeze in more turn in. I also have a hard hitting the apex right on and more often, I too come in early. I release barely any gas and squeeze in more steering and always manage a so so exit.

IMHO, at 1:16 you turned the wheel while in the grass... too much steering input, too early.
yeah, you ran out of track, but looks like you could have just driven on the grass to the track, as it went left...
if you had just let car roll straght 3-4 car lenths, a little sterring should have been ok.
-I have a lot of experince off track.. try to straighten the wheel before you go off...

The spin actually saved the car. You left the track with a lot of energy, a wall to the left, and wall to the right a little further out. At 90mph, the high percentage play was to reduce energy quickly before the wall to the right became a factor.
Its possible that you may have been to keep the wheels straight and stay off the left side wall, then get yourself back on track without a spin. That is a very low percentage play, but would have been 'heroic'. Better to spin and stay in one piece than to try for the heroic save and kiss the wall trying.

It wasn't "save-able" once you were in the grass, but it was easily save-able before hand. You turned in early, but you weren't going that fast. A little bit of throttle and some counter steer and you would have been on your way. You were pretty late in your reaction to the problem.

At 1:12, right about when you are about at the apex cone, I see a quick counter-steer left. Was the car sliding there already? I'm surprised you couldn't stay on the gas through there but never having driven there I am not one to say..

I'm not sure I would ever call spinning back across the track and doing a 180 degree tank slapper by not going both feet in to at least allow the car to spin in a predictable manner the "better" option. It worked in this case, but it's still a pretty low percentage play for the exit of a slightly blind high speed sweeper where many cars come around the bend foot to the floor.
