Dave, I think everyone knew I was joking. Your car should be in the low 2's IMO.

I was there 3 weeks ago with RTR and did 2:15 with my stock GT3 on Hoosiers. First time out on Hoosiers, so I'm looking to better that time at the next event.

As was I....but a "138secs" is a 2:18 for those who aren't math challenged (even VR got it!).

Just for perspective...

Spec Miata's run 2:20's all the time (SM lap record is a 2:17.8-ish) on Toyo RA-1's (not the stickiest tire ever created...)

Volkswagen Golf (stock motor & driveline - ~120hp at the wheels, limitations on suspension) holds the ITB lap record = 2:23.9 (previous record holder was a Volvo 142 - ~130hp at the wheels)

Don't worry, Bull. Maybe one day you can hire me to coach you into the 2:10 range!

I'd agree with a 2:26. I was running around 2:30-2:32 and my tires (Toyo T1-R - they are street and can be driven at speed in the rain) were squealing on every corner. I even did a little fish tail in the bus stop (that was fun - i don't have an accurate sense of danger which is why i love racing). I definitely think I could do better with my braking points (a little later and sharper) and cornering (slow in fast out while keeping momentum). I was definitely flat out through the esses and was considering shifting to 5th at the tiny straight before the slight right hand that lets you track out on to the back straight. I'll get a camera setup soon, so you guys can critique. I know I'd get tons of comments. I'm switching to RA-1's and maybe switching my pads for next weekend. I will post times.

I think the 1:40 is doable. You need to be flat through the esses, and keep it on the floor until you get to T11.

I missed that one...tends to happen when I look at this during work hours

So I'll revise my estimate using the 2:14.0 that was second fastest. That's a 2:24 for a street car on street tires. After all, the question was about a "good" time, not necessarily a "blistering fast" one.
