993 front pads are much bigger than 930

the orange set of pads in front are 930f/r//964f/r//993rear size, the middle set is 993f//964t f//964RS f size, the rear most set is from a 993tt f//964 3.6t

OntarioMark is not concerned with such trivial matters as lap times. He enjoys the process of methodically deciding between upgrade options, the parts ordering process, the customs clearing process and paying for the installation. This is usually done in the weeks before a race so as to provide an excuse as to why the race car is not yet 'ready' to race.

I think these are good questions. I would be interested in people's thoughts.

IMHO, the benefits of big brakes that offer large margins of thermal reserves really lies with the driver's skills and experience.

If your current brakes are still getting the job done on the last lap, then I don't think you'll get a laptime advantage from bigger brakes. I did mine because I was going through rotors/pads quickly and the brakes would start to go away on long runs (>30min). With the current setup (Brembo rotors from Rennsport Systems and Pagid Black pads), I get about 30+ track days from a set of rotors/pads.

See above^^^^^

Add cooling as needed will help conserve pads and rotors too. Cheap, no chasing your tail getting it dialed in and less unsprung weight. More unsprung weight = slower and unneeded unless the brakes cannot be cooled enough or don't get the car stopped.

Can you lock them up? Do they last the entire race? Yes 2X = spend the $ on cheater motor parts.
