Any market for almost expired Schroth harnesses?
I have at least one, and likely two, Schroth Hybrid II harnesses coming out of my car. The belts expire at the end of 2008. Is there likely any market for these things? I was told by somebody that in the past one could sell the harnesses to people who might use them for DE. I understand PCA now wants the belts to be current for DE (and not unreasonably so in my opinion), so maybe somebody can suggest another market? If not, I expect I take them apart and maybe the various metal clips and latches are of some value?

PCA is the only group that I know of that regulates belt dates for DE's, so there should be plenty of other DE'ers out there that would be interested. Post on the BMW forums and I bet they would go, or pop them up on ebay.

The timing of this post could not be better. I just replaced my 5 point Simpson belt with a new Hans friendly Schroth. The Simpson belt expired 1 month ago yet appears like new.

I think you can get them rewebed. Depends on the brand if they will reweb their own. There are also some aftermarket shops that reweb belt sets. I got a 3/2 hans friendly set with lever lock built to my pull up and down needs for under $160. Used a timed out set as a trade in. A google will show some shops that do this work.
