Default Pyrometer input sought: Intercomp, Longacre or other?

I need a new pyrometer since mine was stolen in a trailer break-in. I would like to get a memory unit that is capable of showing all 12 measurements and download the data to a laptop. It looks like my options are in the $400 range.

So, does anyone have direct experience with the:

(A) Longacre 50692 with the download com port

or

(B) Intercomp 102034

I have read various threads, mostly with people's preferences based on other products of these manufacturers, but am wondering (1) if anyone who uses one or the other would be willing to give their $0.02 about why they are happy/unhappy with his/hers.

As a follow-up question, (2) do you download the data to your laptop/pc? Since I already download my AIM data, another quick download would not bother me at all.

Finally, (3) is there another pyrometer I should consider?

Thanks for your help.

FWIW, I've seen both of those units used at karting races (my son races karts).
Some folks are 'Longacre' and some are "Intercomp".

FWIW2, I own and use this one:

I haven't used it in a couple of years, since I have "finally...almost...maybe" learned to read a tire visually and just set pressures. It's a good tool. I used to record data on a 'setup sheet' rather than download to a PC.

ltc, that's what I had previously, and it worked, but the ability to skip scribbling while quickly checking temps is what I'm going for, especially if I have indentured pit assistants taking them.

My only experience in modern times is with the Longacre products, but I am very pleased with their products across their product line.

Thanks. Do any of you download the data rather than transcribe it?
