Here is my video from the sprint race on Sunday. I had a great battle with Mike Keck in the black 1989 944 Turbo S. I started on the pole with Mike on the outside. He got a good run on me going into T1 on the second or third lap, and got by me. The video starts a couple laps later. It was hot all weekend (low 90's) and tire management was a key all weekend.
I don't think there was a single incident all weekend--everybody did a great job!!!

Nice race Doug. Looked like a lot of fun. Nice use of traffic on the pass. What was with the fist pump? Was that a new personal best time or something? You were really flying after the pass.

Fist pump--I was just really happy to have repassed Mike. I saw that I had already pulled a nice gap and was relieved.

Nice driving, Doug. Thanks for posting the video.
Hey, what's the difference in our gear ratios (me: '87 G50)??? What is your rev light set for?? Examples: I'm in the redline approaching 4, definitely at 5, and also approaching 9. Your light never flashes in those spots... Also, I have to shift into 4th at/around the tower... you upshift much later (and needless to say, you're carrying a bit more speed out of 10 than I am).

My shift light comes on at 6400 rpm, but I normally shift between 6800-7000rpm. My rev limiter is set at 7000 rpm.
Porsche reduced the rev limit to 6520 rpm on the 3.2. The 3.2-3.6 have a smaller rod bolt than the earlier engines. The longer stroke and different rod/bolt design are the reasons for the lower rev limit.
The g50.01 and the 78-79 915 are geared basically the same. Third and fourth gears are nearly identical when you multiply CWP ratios.
The other thing to consider is that I am running a 275/40/17 rear tire.
Hope that helps clear things up for you.

Awesome driving Doug. You got Keck focused on his mirrors and got him good. Great stuff! Thanks for posting.

Guys that track looks like a lot of fun. I did Gingerman for the first time this year and had a blast, I gotta do Putnam next year too. Sean you and Fred should too, swing by through Buffalo and we'll all trailer down together.
Great video and racing Doug, nice finish.
