My car's usually good for 1/2 quart for the weekend.

68K miles, stock engine, probably 10k track miles.

Same here in NJ....just think of it as an automatic oil change!

Any leakdown test recently?

Eric,

Do a leakdown test to confirm that its not rings or valves. Pull a lower valve cover to do the "wiggle test " and check guide wear.

Although you are emissions exempt, oil consumption leaves heavy carbon on piston crowns and combustion chamber surfaces. These create hot spots that trigger detonation and pre-ignition which are a BIG problem for anything with forced-induction.
