How much used oil did you put in at a time? I've got gallons from all the oil changes on cars. I guess I would rather run it in the truck than recycle it.

I have run up to a 50% mix, though usually only around a 80/20 or 70/30 mix of diesel/oil. The thing about it is, it will smoke more.

Dad used to run Kerosene, heating oil, vegetable oil and any combination thereof in the '64 Ford Super Major loader/backhoe we had on the property. As long as there was someone to throw the compression release lever, it always started. YMMV.


PS fun article by Randy Pobst in a recent 'Sports Car' He describes running his biofuel jetta TDI on cooking oil from Costco at $2.50/gal
