Work is making it tough. I definitely can get there Saturday but would like to camp but that aint gonna happen Thursday night. Maybe Friday night. Sucks to drive over two hours for a two hour race and then drive home. From what I understand from some non Rennlist folks i camped with at Sebring 12 hours who will be at LRP they let you stay over Saturday as long as you are out Sunday morning. No new pics of the track work on LRP's site as of right now. HURRY HURRY HURRY!!!!!

Lime Rock website says they will have the Classic track paved by ALMS. But not the optional bits. So what happens when someone drops a wheel onto the unpaved track sections.
Be a real incentive to stay on pavement if they leave a nice 1-2" lip at those points.
Doesn't Big Bend get the most wear. Or is it the last turn on the downhill.

Listen, I was talking at length with some of the brass up there yesterday, and they are quite confident that this circuit is vastly improved. First of all, it hasn't been paved since mid nineties, and it's way smoother now. Secondly, the curbs are much more "usable", and in a few places the circuit is also wider. West bend wall is moved way back, because there is now an optional turn, and the uphill rail is slightly moved back. They're going to be running the "classic" layout, but with the sharper uphill turn, inside the original. They don't seem at all worried about the pavement, either. Even the pit lane is newly paved and much improved. And, normally this event would run over this holiday weekend but they took the extra week to ensure that all was in order.

That's what I would be telling people as well if I was the PR guy for LRP... The pavenment's coming up during the ALMS weekend, either due to the ground effects sucking it up, or horrible bumps that can only be felt by a racecar, not the F-250 work truck driving around the track.
