Default WTB: 1989-1991 Porsche 944 S2 - prepped or partially prepped track car

Title says it all. Looking for a well maintained track beastie. Please provide vitals and chassis / engine mileage or hours.

Any distance in the continental US is okay. Please PM if you have a car I may be interested in.

Thanks so much.

Contact Karl @ Racer's Edge (865-862-5262). He has a 944 S2 ready to go and is a front-of-the pack S2 ready to go.

Not sure yet. I have seen quite a range thus far. Low (non prepped car) at $5000 to a fully prepped car at $25K (nutty, IMO). I have also found about 2-3 in the mid-teens ($14-16K).

Right now my two cars of choice for my track toy are either a 944 S2 or a BMW E36 M3. Prices are approx the same apples to apples.

I haven't been able to find any solid S2 street cars this year. I've been looking for something in the 4-8k range locally as a donor car with just a straight solid chassis and not a complete rat. The ultimate find would be a realy nice one with a broken cam belt, but that doesn't seem to be happening either. It's just hard to pay the money people want for S2's when turbo's are everywhere for alot cheaper, and can be made into alot faster of a car engine wise (obv. just as a general trackcar not to PCA rules) without spending lots of money.

If you're thinking at all about getting into club racing, do yourself a favor and wait for a really well done car to come on the market. Price will be higher than you think though. Those cars can do really well in E if they've been prepared right.

Yup, registered this year (turned 18). Voted in the primary but will probably abstain come November due to the lack of a non socialist/democratic candidate.

edited for some OT political content

Look in the rennlist classifieds. Post date 5/22. Sellers name is Steve Miller. I have purchased a car from him and the shop that does his cars is well respected. He also has a turbo for sale. He has gone to the dark side of spec Miata.

How about my '86 Turbo - lots of track oriented mods, including the critical rod bearings/oil pan baffle/windage tray/crank scraper, which by the way has increased my hot oil pressure by about 1 bar..it used to hover around 2 bar when hot which is normal for a stock car, now it hovers around 3 bar

Thanks!

I've been to VIR a couple of times - but never at a timed event, and I haven't been to VIR since the new suspension either...

Some here (Jupeman, 38D, Bull...) would venture to say that my times, no matter what suspension, no matter what track, are on the order of "slowish."
