Oh no! Not another Speed TV Rant!
Ok - so I've been without Speed TV for the last couple of years (Stupid Cablevision...) Anyway, last week, I finally caved and got a digital cable box, and Speed TV's back on my channel lineup.
Great! First TV show I put on -- Mud Bog Racing. Since when did Speed TV turn into Redneck TV?!?
But I saw ads for this weekend's LeMan's race -- coverage on Saturday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Well, I don't know how they can squeeze a 24 hour race into such a short time, but I figured it is better than Mud Bog racing.
Well, I'm watching, and at 12:00noon, all of a sudden, LeMans is no longer on -- instead, we get the freakin NASCAR Sprint Cup practice sessions. A freakin practice session! So we get to "enjoy" the show -- one car zipping around (and around and around and around and around) a race track all by itself, instead of watching road racing, where cars are SCREAMING down the Mulsanne Straight, passing each other in the corners -- Audis battling Peugot, Porsches, Vettes, Aston Martins, even Acura's running thorugh the track....
So the most prestigious road race of the year is preempted by a lousy NASCAR practice session. Now I can understand if there were an actualy NASCAR race going on that they would show that over LeMans - but this is unbelievable.
I guess I didn't miss much while I didn't have Speed. This is no disappointing.

I agree, but their website content has at least gotten better.

Speed TV, your all NASCAR all the TIME every Time channel...
It took a major dump when it got France funding and changed from SPEEDVISION...it really sucks, a whole year of monster trucks, lowriders, monster garage, nascar cup, truck, nascar winners circle, nascar race to the cup, trick my truck bla bla bla..., and we can't get one day of solid coverage of the best (IMHO) races in motorsports....f**king go figure.
The live feed from Radio Lemans is great, and at least speed does have some coverage later tonight.
Sucks the lizards got wacked, and penske and fernandez should have manned up and showed...with the speed of the peugeots I really wonder if all the noise of an overall win was possible anyway...

The http://www.justin.tv/giac2007 link was carrying Le Man when I hit it at around 2:00PM. Great coverage - was that teh ITV team??
Come 2:30, longish ad break, I'm doing other stuff, then friggin SHOW JUMPING! I love horse sports, but not in preference to Le Mans coverage!! At least its better than Nascrap practice, but......
