Default Thoughts on the R-3 neck restraint system.

I have had a Hans device for 4 years now, but with so many students cars having stock seats, I am looking at the R-3.

For those of you that have them what do you think and are there anyother alternatives? Thanks

Default R3 for Instructors

We recommend the R3 for instructors to use especially when they are in a student's vehicle and there are no racing belts installed (just the 3-point stock seatbelt).

Safety Solutions (the mfr of the R3) claims their device can be used with all seatbelts (including 3 point) and is the only SFI restraint that can be used without Seatbelts.

Here's a link to their site or feel free to call with questions.

I bought mine for that very reason...instructing with students that didn't have proper safety equipment in their car according to me. I am now posting my R3 for sale which happens to not only be in excellent condition, but it comes with the seat pad as well as helmet anchors. I love the flexibility it provides, I just will not instruct any longer without a 5 point harness.
