Default Cleaning Severe Brake Dust from Wheels from Track Events

I have two sets of OEM factory wheels and finish (8). I use CarboTech XP10 racing brake pads on the car. These pads are being used on the street and on the track with both sets of wheels.

I'm noticing I can't get the brake dust cleaned off from the wheels due to the extremely high temperatures... the brake dust is being baked on to the wheel finish.

I've tried cleaning the wheels with low level strength (over the counter) wheel and brake dust cleaners with no success. I would like to know if anyone is aware of any cleaners, acids, or stronger solvents to remove the caked-on, baked-on brake residue from the wheels.

Thanks.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying this works, doesn't work, or won't kill everyone withing a 10 mile radius.

Try Easy Off oven cleaner on a small spot on the inside of the wheel. I've "heard" it works, but as I have neighbors I can't try it myself.

WOW, fast hands there VR!

I'm nervous to try EZ Off Oven Cleaner. I had to replace the top of my stove one time. Ask me how that happened?

Have you tried this at home?

try a cleaner wax.

wax is always a good idea for painted wheels anyway.

I have used groats garage car polish. I know it is meant for paint work however its mildly abrasive nature seems to work well! I presume most polishes may have similar benefits

haven't tried it yet myself, but I've thought about using BarKeepersFriend - removes all kinds of chemical deposits w/o scratching. Probably a lot like Easy Off w a little less chemical and little more elbow grease.

I have used Easy Off for bad caked on brake dust with great success (my old track wheels used to cake up badly, even waxed). With my current wheels, I no longer have the problem (PFC01 pads).
