Default What type of thread locker for race wheel studs?

Anyone install wheel studs in place of the stock wheel lugs? I bought some for my 996 and was wondering what others have done. Share your insights.

hi. my friend races a Spec E30 BMW with NASA; he has replaced his lug bolts with extended studs. he used loctite red, but they came free several times (i think the extreme heat at the brakes/hub causes the loctite to burn off and the studs to loosen). he finally had them tack welded in place, and that did the trick!!!

good luck.

I used Red on my OLOA E46 M3 and have had no problem with them coming loose. I did use almost a full can of brake clean on the holes before installing to clean out any foreign substances.
