Default Starting Tire Pressure

Finally taking this car to my first DE/Track day (HOD Pocono North 05/22). Any recommendation for starting tire pressures. My car is setup as in my signature and I have Hankook Ventus RS2s in 225/50/16 and 245/45/16.

I just did a DE at Pocono North this weekend. Ran a stock Cayman 2.7 with Michelin PS2s. Starting with 32F and 33R cold, I got about 38F and 39R hot. I have no clue as how this will work with your setup. Run the first session and check your pressures.. There was track air available.

You can count on about 6-7 PSI increase in pressure from cold to hot when you come off the track. If this is your first DE ever, you could probably take about three pounds off of what you normally run on the street for your first session, and then check your pressures when you come off the track. You'll probably need to bleed another three PSI at that point, but it's not a big deal for the first session ever in a DE. Check your pressures right after each run, and adjust accordingly. This approach will allow you to keep bleeding down as opposed to going too far and having to add.

I think it all depends on the car, tires, brakes, driving, etc. My 235/305 PSCups increased 12-13 PSI on my 997S. So 34/35 hot target means starting with 21-22 front and 22-23 rear cold.
