Default Apple Computer Race Sim games?

Are there any decent computer racing games for the Apple that drive some
of the popular tracks?

Think that you can run all pc apps on new macs and therefore that you can have all games. Don't know how but I think that this is correct.
Hope that someone who knows can tell us how... We have 4 macs at home

You can install Windows on any Intel Mac. There are a couple of ways to accomplish it - you can run your computer as a dual boot or install one of the programs that allow you to run Windows as a virtual drive. I use Parallels and it works great. I run both Mac OS and Windows at the same time on the same computer and they work together seamlessly. That is the only way I know of to run Windows programs on a Mac.

I'll echo the previous comments. There are no good Mac-native racing sims that I am aware of. However, if you're running an Intel Mac and have a Windows license, with VMWare, Parallels, or Boot Camp, you also have a PC in your Mac and can run any game, PC app, etc. If you really want to...

Sounds like a bit of a PITA. More programs on my computer.
I'll try my kids XBox. Its just that the controller sucks on it. I really need to get the wheel and pedals. But the kids setup is always trashed and messy.
Oh well, I'll figure something out. I cant believe there are no decent Mac specific race games.

Wouldn't a game be another program on your computer?

Just setup the machine to dual boot...much better choice if you want to run games as you won't have two operating systems competing for resources as you would if you are running Windows in a virtual machine inside of the MAC OS. It just takes up a little disk space...those MAC's do let you add additional hard drives now, right?

Forza 2 on the XBox 360. Get a wheel/pedal combo and have fun!

Dual boot is the way to go, a simple restart and you are running Windows.. What video card do Mac's use?

Depends on the Mac. My current machine is running a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT with 512MB of memory.
