Default TOYO RA-1

Anybody using these tires as a daily *and* track tire..? love to hear your feedback..... I have a 1999 996 with 17" rims and am thinking about either the TOYO RA-1 or the Yokohama Neova AD07...... anybody with experience on these tires out there? I've ready tire rack and would like to hear from somebody first hand...

thx
P.

to me the mileage doesn't matter.... want a good daily and something for serious DE days and autocrosses... if they wear fast that is not an issue...

I used the toyos on an M coupe that I drove on the street and at occasional track events. The tires will last plenty long, had lots of grip for a dual purpose tire and were not bad in the rain. I just put on a set of the Michelin Pilot Sports on a 78 911 and plan to use them in the same maner.

We've run both. One of my kids currently has the Yoks on his WRX. They have lasted 15 track days so far and about 5K of street driving, and are less than half worn. The RA1s are faster on the track, but will wear faster too.

IIRC, the RA1's are now out of production.

He always run the new R888 or Nitto NT01s, though the Nittos are not as good in the rain.

RA-1 are out of production as mentioned above. If you find a set you'll likely be screwed when you need a set of rears and the fronts are 1/2 worn. The replacements are the Nitto 01.

I use them mainly for track but also get good street and AutoX use. They are noisy but I really like the performance so far (2 AutoX / 3 DE's / 300mi street) I've yet to experience true rain, however I've DE'd them on a wet Snowy Track.
