Default spec boxster in norcal

We had a great weekend at Thunderhill with ARC. I did a little writeup here, but suffice to say my first race was *awesome*, I am still buzzing about it a day later! BTW, if you have not seen these little 2.5L screamers in action, all I can say is wow, what fun!

I had no real problems with the R888's, but I ran them at a much lower temp than it seems most people are, we targeted 35psi hot.

Glad you had a great time. I had to miss this one. My car' starter decided to die as I was loading my trailer Friday. Hope to see you at Buttonwillow.

Nice meeting you out there Kenny. I had the Cayman S. 90+ more horsepower was barely enough to keep you at bay in Sunday's race so i went ahead and bought eric's gt3 on Monday! At this rate i may find myself bankrupted and driving a used indy car.
It was a fun race w/e - it was my first and unlike saturday's where there was not a car in sight on Sunday you kept me honest. I kept swearing at you as i looked in my rearview mirror...

I was at the HOD event the previous day, and saw your car in Group D. I really liked the way it sounded! You certainly looked like you were hauling ***.

Congrats on your racing Kenny. I think it's safe to say we all had a great time!

Did you beat Bill on Sunday? I saw him right behind someone on the last lap and wodered if it was you.

I echo Kenny's sentiments as this past weekend's races with ARC and the group of drivers we had was just a great time! Kenny and I pitted together all weekend and had alot of fun. It was the perfect weekend for us newbie racers as we each experienced qualifying our cars first and winning a race (me on Saturday and Kenny on Sunday). Kenny is indeed going to be awfully tough to beat once he gets more than the 3 days he has in his car.

I was lucky on Saturday's race that I was able to get by Kenny due to -- as he would say -- his "evil" handling car. He still came in second on Saturday. On Sunday we reversed positions as I developed a pretty bad push and could never even get close to him and just watched his silver car pull away from me.

The weekend was just fabulous fun, I can't think of how it could have been any better. So far Kenny and I are the only two Spec Boxster's in NorCal, but this weekend we start the transformation of another local racer and I believe you are going to see a few more built this year in our neck of the woods.

Mooty,

When are you going to build one? There's plenty of room in your garage for one! We'll be at Buttonwillow with ARC on April 19th and 20th. I hear a few of our Southern California Spec Boxster buddies may join us. Now that would be fun.

Here's lap 2 of Saturday's race.

Kenny is in the Silver Boxster....

Two Spec Boxsters, a Spec Miata and a BMW M3 get to play. Sunday's race wasn't as close as Kenny pulled to a several second lead and just cruised on in for the victory.

Can't wait for the next race!

Thanks guys, it was a blast!

Tom, congrats on your win too!

Thx Dave. ;-).

And, was it Matt (?) in the Cayman. Anyways, very nice driving, I could not get up to you even with my 600lbs less weight!!! What a blast it was trying though. Congrats on the GT3.

See you Bill at BW, I am signed up and ready to go. Dan will be there as well.

Hi Kenny,

Both my wife and I are registered for the event. I'll talk with some other folks and see if we'll have a few more Spec Boxsters joining us. It would be nice to do a "Spec" paddock area. Looking forward to seeing you and Dan again.

Should be fun!
