Default If Your Racing a 85/86/87 944 Turbo....

If you have turned your 85/86/87 944T into a race car, I'd like to buy your old "space saver" aluminum spare wheel & tire.

I am looking to buy one or more 1985/86/87 944T "space saver" spare aluminum 15" wheel, P/N 951.362.131.00 (silver anodized) or 951.362.130.01 (red anodized). The wheel has 16 round holes around the perimeter, and is marked "5.5 X 15 ET30," and also has the P/N stamped on it. Condition of tire unimportant, but wheel should be undamaged.

If you have one you want to sell, please contact me via PM or directly at
fordlandia@sbcglobal.net or call (616) 957-7840.

Thanks,

Bill Waite

Curious, what are you using these wheels on?

Hey Matt... I retired a short time back and finally have time to work on (restore) our '65 356C Coupe that we've owned since 1975. These "space saver" wheels are a "bolt on" for the late 356's with disc brakes, and are 5 1/2" wide versus the 4 1/2" original steel wheels. It would cost me about $200 per wheel to have the original wheels rechromed... so these wheels are a decent alternative. They look cool (or "kewl" as they say now) when painted or powdercoated silver. Plus, they are a lot lighter than the steel wheels. Picture below shows the wheels on somebody's race car... but I'm just going to use them on my coupe for cruising on the streets.

Now that I took care of your curiosity, how about finding me a few of them?

Cool project, I've got one for you.
Located in Wisconsin, PM me and we can discuss.

edit: Mines off an '89, not sure if there's a difference.
Since you specified there may be. Anyways yours if you can use it.
